With the predicted closure date of Plumstead Public Library fast approaching, the City of Cape Town is mum on the way forward.
News of the library’s closure first broke at the beginning of last year.
At the time, Patricia van der Ross, Mayco member for community services and health, told People’s Post that the decision not to renew Plumstead library’s lease had been taken on Wednesday 15 December 2021 with a full sitting of council “in line with council’s decision to delimit external leases”.
Van der Ross said the predicted closure of the library would either be at the end of February or March 2023.
